This feature allows you to add new users to your portal in bulk using a CSV file. Follow the three steps below.
Overview
- Download the .csv file template from the Users section
- Complete the file following the instructions
- Import the file in the dedicated section of your portal
Step 1 β Download the CSV template
π‘ Using the template provided by Edflex ensures a clean import and limits the risk of errors.
- From your menu, go to the Users section
- In the top right corner of the list, click on Add users β a panel opens on the right
- From this panel, click on Download template
Step 2 β Complete the CSV file
Once downloaded, open the file with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers (on Mac) and fill in the columns.
β οΈ The file cannot exceed 250 rows. If you have more than 250 users to register, split your list into several files and proceed with multiple successive imports.

Step 3 β Import the file
Once your file is complete, save it in .csv UTF-8 format, then return to the add users panel.
- Drag and drop your file into the designated area, or click on it to select it from your computer
- A progress bar indicates the progress of the import
- An information banner notifies you whether the file contains errors or not
- Click on Confirm and add users to validate the import
β Users are registered and appear in the user list with the status Pending. Reload the page to see the additions.
Invitation email
π¬ The invitation email is automatically sent in the language assigned to the user (column F).
If the option Send an invitation email is disabled at import, the email will be triggered automatically when the learner first attempts to log in to the portal.
Troubleshooting β import errors
1. My file is rejected entirely
Your file may be rejected if it:
- Is not a .csv file
- Exceeds 100 MB
- Contains more than 250 rows
- Does not include all required columns (first name, last name, email, language)
π Double-check your .csv file before attempting to import again.
2. My file is accepted but contains errors
Even if the file is accepted, individual rows may contain errors. This can happen if:
- The user already exists in the portal
- The user appears more than once in the file
- The first name is missing or exceeds 64 characters
- The last name is missing or exceeds 64 characters
- The email is missing or not in the correct format
- The language is missing or not in the correct format
π In this case, you can choose to ignore the errors and proceed β only valid rows will be added β or cancel to fix the file first.
βΉοΈ By ignoring errors, only valid users will be added. Rows with errors will be skipped.
