About Edflex Search extension
The extension allows you to include the content selected by Edflex directly in the search results of Google.com
The learner can filter the results according to the type of content desired (article, video, podcast, online course, etc.)
This feature allows you to increase the visibility of the training content offer available within your organization by making it part of the daily practice of each learner: perform a search on Google.com
What are the prerequisites?
- Be an Edflex client and confirm with our teams the deployment of this functionality.
- Use the Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
- Any browser that allows you to install extensions from the Chrome Web Store (Opera, Brave, Vivaldi, etc.)
As an administrator:
- Allow users to install extensions on their browser or be able to whitelist the Edflex Search extension for installation.
What data is collected?
Edflex does not collect any personal data via this extension and cannot associate a search with a user. Its activation only allows the linkage of search results with the Edflex portal of its organization.
We only collect the queries made that are mandatory to display a result following a search. This also allows our teams to improve the relevance of our search engine.
How do I install and activate the Edflex Search extension as a learner?
As a learner, it is possible to install Edflex Search in two different ways:
A) Through the extension page on your Edflex portal (Recommended)
Once the feature has been deployed by your CSM, this page can be accessed from the footer of the entire Edflex application.
The page shows in 1ʳᵉ step the link to add the extension from the Chrome Web Store or Microsoft Edge Add-ons
Once added, the activation button appears and allows to finalize the installation.
After clicking on "Activate extension", a success message will appear. You can then go directly to Google.com and see the extension in action by searching!
B) Directly through the Stores
For Google Chrome on Google Chrome Store
For Microsoft Edge on the Microsoft Edge Add-ons Store
Once installed, the extension opens a page of explanations which indicates to go to its portal Edflex to activate the extension via the procedure explained in the previous point.
How do I deploy the Edflex Search extension within my organization?
Communication is the key to creating the desire to use the Edflex Search extension.
We recommend sharing the link to the Edflex page dedicated to the extension, so learners can install it themselves.
Do not hesitate to contact your CSM for advice and help in designing and distributing this message to your learners (mailing, illustrations, banner on Edflex application...)
Deploy Edflex Search as a Google Workspace administrator
If your organization uses Google Workspace, as an administrator, it is possible to install the Edflex extension on a defined population of people.
How to proceed?
- Go to the Google Workspace administration space (admin.google.com) in the section Device > Apps & extension > Users & Browsers
- Select the population on which you want to distribute the extension in the column (2)
- Then click on the + button at the bottom right of the column (3)
Fill in the extension ID: afnihogbfobdccmbkhhklaccbhccbmfh and click on save
In the installation policy, select "Force install and pin" then "Save".
Congratulations! The extension has just been deployed to the entire selected population.
Deploy Edflex Search as a Microsoft administrator
The Edflex Search extension is available in the official Microsoft Add-ons store, which allows you as an administrator to force its installation on the browsers managed by your organization.

Please note that forcing the installation does not exempt the Edflex Search extension from being activated individually by each user so that it can function correctly.
